We take environmental responsibility seriously, and this is why we have launched the Green by Design® initiative, which focuses on our activities around Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.
The Green by Design® initiative has the objective to continuously improve our performances in three specific areas:
- further introducing eco-design into our innovation process,
- continuously monitoring our manufacturing processes,
- reducing the environmental impacts of our manufacturing sites in terms of waste, water pollution and air emissions.
These are the three areas within our products’ lifecycle that we directly control. In addition, we also believe that there is a shared responsibility with our customers to promote a more sustainable way of using paper products. By this I mean for example that we have designed our SmartOne® bathroom tissue system in such a way that it delivers only one sheet of paper at a time, avoiding overconsumption and thereby encouraging end-users to reduce paper usage by just utilizing the required amount. This is also what the Green by Design® initiative is about.
In fact, Lotus Professional® has a long history of sustainable responsibility.
On this website, we highlight a few of the initiatives that demonstrate how we address areas of environmental interest and how by practicing Reduce, Reuse and Recycle, we act to minimize our impact on the environment based on credible scientific evidence.
Lotus Professional® plays an essential part in the lives of our consumers. We provide quality products and systems that ensure hygiene and comfort, and makes life easier and more enjoyable.
I strongly believe that sustainability is a journey, not a destination.
I am proud of what we have achieved so far, but recognize that we still have a lot more to do.
